Karen Mok’s Breif Introduction

Karen Mok’s Chinese name is 莫文蔚，the Pinyin is Mò Wénwèi. But she was known more commonly as Karen Mok or Mok Man-Wai. Karen was born in June 2, 1970, Hong Kong. She is a song-singer, actress, composer, producer, designer. And also she is three-time Golden Melody Award-winning Hong Kong-based actress and singer-songwriter.

                            

    Mok is an advocate for animals and one of only five Asian celebrities to make People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Asia-Pacific’s (PETA) first-ever Best-Dressed 2008 list. Mok has joined efforts to help bears in China whose bile is used for medicinal purposes.

                       

    In 2007, Mok was involved with MTV EXIT, a campaign against human trafficking in Asia. She presented Traffic: An MTV EXIT Special, a documentary on trafficking. Hong Kong singer-actress Karen Mok announced that she will be marrying her German boyfriend Johannes in October, when she got on stage to receive the Best Female Mandarin Singer at the 22nd Golden Melody Awards on Saturday, reported Taiwan media. In Oct 2008, Karen Mok launched her own brand of perfume in Hong Kong.

                              

     The 41-year-old singer gave some juicy details about Johannes, also 41, later that night, during the party after the awards ceremony. “It’s all fate. The time has come, [I] met the right person so [I'm] getting married,” Mok told reporters, clarifying that her sudden announcement was not because she is already pregnant. She also revealed that Johanne’s proposal about a month ago was devoid of any grand romantic gestures. “We (Mok and Johannes) were travelling abroad. He took out a box, and in it was a gold diamond ring. “When I saw it, I laughed and agreed [to marry him],” said Mok.
