It is reported that an advertisement for perfume featuring teenage actor Dakota Fanning has been banned in Britain.
Fanning "was holding up the perfume bottle... in her lap between her legs and we considered that its position was sexually provocative." It is said that Fanning is seventeen years old and people can accept that she makes the perfume advertisement.
However, the ASA ruled that Fanning looks under sixteen which are too young to make a pose and dress that kind of short outfit in advertisement, which will draw children to be sexualize. Girls at that age ought to dress in lolita clothing, which is cute and young without any matter about sexy.
Readers in UK has complained about the magazine agency using the picture of Fanning in a sexualize manner and they also accused of the responsibility and offence of the magazine agency.
Britain's advertising regulator, the ASA agreed with the complaints, and has banned the picture from use in the UK. However, the perfume's manufacturer insisted that the ad "did not show any private parts or sexual activity" and said it was "provoking, but not indecent."
